Wyoming Tricentennial Fund of 2076 - In 1977, the bicentennial comittee of the Borough of Wyoming and the Wyoming Rotary Club established a tricentennial celebration fund. A resolution was drawn stipulatiog that the proceeds would be used to celebrate America's 300th birthday party under the direction of a committee appointed "by the government unit having jurisdiction over the area now known as the Borough of Wyoming."

The fund was established with a $63 donation to Rotary by the Wyoming Borough Bicentennial Committee, which represented the balance left from the 200th birthday celebration and a $100 donation from First Eastern Bank. Wyoming Rotary donated $330 to bring the total fund to $493.

The Wyoming Rotary Tricentennial Fund invested with a CD at the PNC Bank, Midway Office Wyoming, Pa. The fund and fiduciary responsibilities was transferred to the Luzerne Foundation in 2001, which has promised growth to 1 million by 2076.
